The so-called “Gua” refers to hanging, which represents the body and is the source of all things and all phenomena.

The so-called “Gua” refers to hanging, which represents the body and is the source of all things and all phenomena.

Therefore, “I-Ching Zheng Shi” said: “Holding one and using many, such as dry three are simple images, but the images are endless.” Each hexagram is bypassed. It has its main function, its own life, its guest response, and its ministers…so a hexagram has infinite images.” “Thus, those who are accustomed to Yi, look for Yi outside of Yi, in order to make the most of the change, divide the image in the image, in order to understand its spirit, and then get the heart of the sage, the meaning of hanging down the image to teach. Observing the image, you must observe its coming and going, To move and fix, it is necessary to distinguish its separation, combination and intertwining, it is necessary to use aliases for similar things, and to distinguish its nature by examining the situation, without losing the extreme.” This is indeed the case.

And the word “Gua” itself has eight paintings, which represent the Eight Gua of the Gua, which is derived from the overlapping of the innate Eight Gua. It is composed of Yang Yao and Yin Yao according to certain rules to illustrate the nature and All the phenomena of the changing laws of human society, Gua is an arrangement of symbols formed for the specific divination purpose of “I-Ching”, and is the basic unit of “I-Ching”.

What is “Yao”? For the sake of effect, it also represents the intertwined changes of Yi, which is the basic unit of the hexagrams. Among them, “” is called Yang Yao, and “Yi-” is called Yin Yao.

Regarding the annotation of “Yao”, Confucius said: “Those who follow the movement of the world are also the ones who are born with good and bad luck.” Pay also”. Why does “Yao” mean hand in? This is to explain that the hexagrams are telling us that everything in the universe is constantly communicating with each other and causing changes, so it is called “Yao”.

“I-Ching Zheng Shi” said: “There are six factors and more changes”, “There are six factors, and the number of effects cannot be recorded” and “There are endless meanings, all of which can be seen from changes.” It means that the word “Yao” combines the three hundred and eighty-four Yaos represented by the sixty-four strokes, and then adds the words to determine its good or bad luck, and it has exhausted the phenomena in the world.

Gua Yao is counted from bottom to top, and there are six Yao in total. The six Yao are divided into three parts: the primary Yao, the second Yao is the earth and the third Yao, the fourth Yao is the human being, the five Yao, and the upper Yao is the sky. These three parts are called “three talents”. The way of heaven talks about yin and yang, the way of earth talks about softness and rigidity, and the way of man talks about benevolence and righteousness.

“Eight Gua” tells us that there are eight things in the universe, and the phenomenon of these eight things is called Eight Gua, which represents the eight elements that make up the universe.

In fact, speaking of it, the universe is a copy of “I-Ching”. The phenomena of the universe are all hung there, and eight phenomena can be summarized. These eight phenomena are respectively represented by “乾 qian、坎 Kan、艮 Gen、震 zhen、巽 Xun、離 Li、坤 Kun、兌 Dui” There are eight Gua, which are composed of three Yao, also called Jing Gua or Single Gua.

The first of the eight hexagrams (Gua) is Qian Gua, which represents the sky. When we look up, the sky is always on the top. When we go to space and turn our heads upside down, the sky is still above the head, so the sky is above the head. The second one is Kun Gua, which represents that human beings are creatures of the earth, and the earth is always under the feet, and the phenomenon of this earth is there. The third is Li Gua representing the sun. The fourth is Kan Gua representing the moon. The sky, the earth, the sun, and the moon are constantly rotating like a ball, representing time, space and the universe. The moon and the sun are constantly rotating between the sky and the earth, so four more hang out. The fifth is zhen Gua, which represents thunder; the ancients believed that there is this kind of electric energy in the universe. When the electricity vibrates, it is thunder. The vibration is too strong, and when it rubs, it will generate electricity again, and it will turn around again, that is, “thunder and wind are weaker than each other”. The seventh is Gen Gua, representing mountains and land. The eighth is Dui Gua, which represents ocean and river. In the universe, these eight phenomena are opposed to each other and change into various inexhaustible situations.

Legend has it that the Xiantian Eight Gua was created by Fuxi, and the two pairs are opposite, which essentially reveals the unity of opposites and the objective law of the ebb and flow of yin and yang in the macroscopic world. What it reflects is the shape of all things and phenomena in the early days of the universe.

What is “innate”? From a philosophical point of view, before everything in the universe is formed, it is the so-called innate, and when there is everything in the universe, it is the day after tomorrow. This is just a definition, used to divide the scope of the stage.

Xiantian Eight Gua is South (乾) qian, North (坤) Kun, East (离) Li, West (坎) Kan, Northeast (震) Zhen, Southwest (巽) Xun, Southeast (兑) Dui, Northwest (艮) Gen qian Kun is relative, which is called heaven and earth positioning; Kan Li is opposite, it is called fire and water do not shoot each other; when Zhen Xun are opposite, it is called thunder and wind are thin; Gen Dui is opposite, it is called Mountains and Swamps Ventilation.

Qian is yang, and the yang energy rises upwards and is in the south; Kun belongs to yin, and the yin energy sinks downwards and is in the north; the east is the place where the sun rises, and Li Gua, where the outer yang and inner yin live; the west is the place where the sunset Kan Gua, which is yin on the outside and yang on the inside, resides there; the northeast belongs to spring and thunder rises, so earthquake resides there; Ze. Qiankun is the position of up and down, Kanli is the door of left and right, where the sun and moon come in and out. The principles of spring, summer, autumn and winter, day and night, cold and heat can all be introduced by Xiantian Eight Gua.

The innate qi is the source of all things, and also the source of kanyu’s qi. Both the yin house and the yang house are essentially based on the innate Eight Gua. The difference is to find the original Qi of heaven and earth from different channels. The orientation of the innate Eight Gua is exactly the opposite of the situation where the map we use today is north and the bottom is south. The orientation of Eight Gua is south and north.

Eight Gua the day after tomorrow is King Wen Eight Gua. It reflects the real situation of nature and human society. If “Innate Eight Gua” is the big phenomenon that shows the formation of the universe, “acquired Eight Gua” shows how people adapt to the changes of all things in nature in the big phenomenon of the formation of the universe.

Houtian Eight Gua is the Eight Gua of King Wen, and its orientation is different from Fuxi’s congenital Eight Gua, forming Linan, Kanbei, Zhendong, Duixi, Genbei, Kunxinan, Qianxibei, and Xundongnan. Comparing the two, the Likan sun and the moon of King Wen Eight Gua have replaced the heaven and earth of Fuxi Eight Gua, and Zhendui also rises and falls on behalf of the sun and the moon.

The order of the hexagram images of Houtian Eight Gua can be found in “Shuo Zhu Gua Bu Zhuan”: “The emperor comes from Zhen. Qi is about Xun, meeting is about Li, serving is about Kun, speaking is about Dui, fighting is about doing, and labor is about Kan , It’s almost Gen.” The general idea is to explain that the circulation of Eight Gua has a certain procedure.

Acquired Eight Gua is a law derived from the passage of four seasons and the growth and collection of all things. From “Shuo Gua Zhuan”, it can be seen that all things grow in spring, grow in summer, harvest in autumn, and store in winter. On the 45th day of the Lord, the turning point is on the eight knots of the four positive and four corners. Each hexagram has three lines, three and eight, which means the twenty-four solar terms in a year.

.

The following is the arrangement order of Eight Gua and its meaning:

(1) Earthquake, which is thunder and wood, ranks in the east, the east belongs to wood, and wood flourishes in spring.

(2) Sunda, which is wind and wood, is arranged in the southeast, and everything is at the turn of spring and summer.

(3) Li, which is the sun and fire, is located in the south, and the south belongs to fire, and the fire is prosperous in summer, and the vegetation is luxuriant.

(4) Kun, for the softness of the earth, for the yin soil, Kun emerges from the soil, and the fire in the south gives birth to the soil. Kun is in the southwest dialect in the late summer and early autumn.

(5) Dui, it is said to be happy, people are happy to harvest autumn fruits, the west belongs to autumn, and gold is prosperous in autumn.

(6) qian, its nature is strong and strong, and it is gold in things. It is at the end of autumn and early winter, the month of Xuhai, when the yang qi is stripped and the yin qi rises.

(7) Kan, for water and moon, gold produces water, the north belongs to water, all things in Ziyue have returned to 1, vegetation retreats to hide, rest and comfort in Zi, so it is called Kan.

(8) Gen, the last is the end, next to Kan, the cycle of the four seasons of the year to the turn of winter and spring, everything has come to an end, so it is called Gen.
